Early this morning a hotel in Merritt caught fire, and the cause is currently under investigation since police believe it's suspicious.
Fire crews and RCMP were called to the Comfort Inn and Suites on Crawford Avenue around 1:30 a.m. today, June 13, according to an RCMP media release.
Everyone evacuated the hotel safely and no injuries have been reported.
A large portion of the building was engulfed in flames and the damage is extensive.
Fire investigators and Merritt RCMP are collecting evidence to find out what caused the suspicious fire.
