The Glen Lake Wildfire, originally listed as 15 km west of Peachland when it broke out Saturday, is now 8 km from the community.
Most of Peachland, therefore, has been put on evacuation alert. The downtown area along Beach Avenue is excluded.
Evacuation orders continue for eight recreational properties.

Parts of Summerland have also been put on evacuation alert.
That includes Faulder, Meadow Valley and Garnet Valley roads and the west side of Highway 97 north of Summerland.

The fire had grown to 763 ha as of 7:16 p.m. yesterday, Sept. 18.

The Environment Canada online forecast calls for a 30% chance of showers this morning, growing to 60% tonight but winds could gust from the north to 40 km/h near noon.
The high today is expected to reach 19 Celsius with an overnight low tonight of 9 C.
Wednesday has a 30% chance of showers early in the morning but then the skies should clear with temperatures climbing above 20 C later in the week.
