This federal election campaign is well underway and the candidates representing the major political parties are set to take the stage and answer questions at all candidate forums around the Okanagan and Kamloops.
The Penticton Chamber of Commerce has organized a forum for the candidates running in Similkameen-South Okanagan-West Kootenay at the Cleland Community Theatre from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 9.

The Liberals announced Gloria Morgan, former chief of the Splatsin First Nation, as its candidate in the riding this week. The Conservative party has longtime Penticton city councillor Helena Konanz running under its banner. Penticton Brain Injury Society director Linda Sankey is running for the NDP.
The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is hosting the all candidates forum for Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 17.

Retiring director for the Okanagan Basin Water Board and former BC NDP candidate Anna Warwick Sears is running for the Liberals. Former Vernon city councillor Scott Anderson is running for the Conservatives. Director for the Regional District of Central Kootenay Leah Main is running for the NDP.

Former Liberal MP Stephen Fuhr is running for the party again against two-term incumbent Conservative Tracy Gray. Trevor McAleese, an independent video game developer, is running for the NDP.
The Greater Westside Board of Trade is having its forum for the Okanagan Lake West-South Kelowna riding at Emmanuel Church from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 16.

Juliette Sicotte, a sales director who focuses on Aboriginal-owned businesses, is running for the Liberals. Conservative Dan Albas is the incumbent MP for the former riding of Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola which is now Okanagan Lake West-South Kelowna. Harpreet Badohal is running for the NDP after an unsuccessful campaign for the BC NDP in the fall.
The Kamloops and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a forum for both the Kamloops-Shuswap-Central Rockies and Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola electoral districts. The forums will be back-to-back online on April 22.

The Kamloops-Shuswap-Central Rockies forum will start at 6 p.m. and the Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola forum will start at 7:30 p.m.
In the riding of Kamloops-Shuswap-Central Rockies, Ken Robertson is running for the Liberals, incumbent Conservative MP for the former riding of North Okanagan-Shuswap is running for re-election and Phaedra Idzan is running for the NDP.
In Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola, the NDP’s Miguel Godau is up against current Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Conservative MP Frank Caputo and two-time Green Party candidate Iain Currie is running for the Liberals this time around.
Election day is Monday, April 28.
