Penticton Vees in great shape to defend title as BCHL champs

The Penticton Vees will be a force to be reckoned with in the BCHL playoffs again.

The Vees are the league’s defending champions after winning 16-straight playoff games in 2022.

Then they started the 2022-2023 regular season with a 24-game win streak. Then they finished the 54-game season with 50 wins, three losses and one overtime loss. The team was only scored on 96 times. They didn’t lose once at home and their win percentage of .935 is the best in team history.

Taking on Penticton in round one will be the Trail Smoke Eaters, who finished the season with a 0.435 win percentage.

The first two games will be at the South Okanagan Events Centre on March 31 and April 1, both begin at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through this link or at the arena box office.
