The Glorious Sons to kick off Memorial Cup party in Kamloops

The Glorious Sons will be kicking off the 2023 Memorial Cup Tournament party in Kamloops next month, the first of many off-ice events booked for the 11 day tournie.

The two-time Juno award-winning Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario, are known for hits like Everything Is Alright and Sawed off Shotgun.

Located beside the Sandman Centre, the Molson Canadian Hockey House will be the official entertainment venue for the tournament and will be the venue for concerts, viewing parties, speaker series, food and beverage offerings and more, according to a Kamloops Blazers media release.

The Glorious Sons are performing at 7:30 p.m., May 25 at The Riverside Party event.

Current ticket holders for the Memorial Cup will have access to an exclusive pre-sale for The Glorious Sons concert through email from today, April 12, until 10 p.m. tomorrow, April 13. Tickets for everyone else will be available online Friday, April 14 at 10 a.m. and start at $49.50 each. 

Outside of The Riverside Party, all events hosted at Molson Canadian Hockey House will have complimentary admission based on capacity throughout the tournament.

Also on the agenda is a free concert series featuring local musicians and a leadership series hosted by six-time Olympic medalist Clara Hughes. Some of hockey’s biggest names are scheduled to share stories, along with several Kamloops Blazers alumni.

The Arrival of the Cup at 4 p.m. on May 25 at Tk’emlups te Secwepemc Powwow Arbour will mark the arrival of the Memorial Cup trophy, feature a welcome prayer and introduce all four Memorial Cup teams.

A Fan Zone will be set up at Sandman Centre with games and activities and a Hockey Hall of Fame at Kelson Hall will showcase prized artifacts and trophies. On the agenda are On-Ice Skill Development Sessions, a Memorial Cup Ball Hockey Tournament and a women’s only skill and strength event.

Scheduled from May 25 to June 4, the 2023 Memorial Cup has a very limited quantity of ticket packages remaining on Ticketmaster.
