The valley could be 15 C today with a chance of showers, but travellers through the mountain passes should expect some snow from now until Sunday morning.
Environment Canada put out a special weather statement warning drivers there could be up to 5 cm of snow on the Okanagan Connector, Allison Pass, Kootenay Pass, and Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Kamloops.
There is a cold and unstable air mass over the BC Interior this long weekend, and periodic snow showers are expected on higher elevation routes, according to the statement.
Environment Canada wants to remind drivers to anticipate suddenly changing weather conditions in the mountains.
