Kelowna RCMP took down an armed man after he made threats at a downtown business. RCMP responded to an incident at a business in the 600-block of Bernard Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, according to a press release from police. Officers were told a man was causing a disturbance and threatening a security guard with an edged weapon. When officers arrived they quickly found the suspect and used a conducted energy weapon, commonly referred to as a Taser, to take him into custody. The suspect was taken to hospital and later released into police custody where he remains. The suspect is set to appear in court Thursday. “This investigation remains ongoing and no further details will be provided at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident and has not provided a statement to police, is encouraged to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2025-12963,” RCMP Cpl.
