Penticton allows early morning construction noise due to heat wave
Penticton residents can expect some early morning construction noise for the next two weeks because of the heat wave. The City of Penticton has temporarily changed the construction noise bylaw for city works and construction projects, according to a release from the city. Construction crews will be able to start making noise at 6 a.m. starting tomorrow, July 8. The exemption is going to let crews work in safer conditions and continue to make progress on projects while beating the heat. Construction noise falls under the Good Neighbour bylaw which normally prohibits noise before 7 a.m. and after 10 p.m. Click here for more information on Penticton’s noise bylaw. https://www.penticton.ca/sites/default/files/docs/city-hall/dispute-a-ticket/5030%20Good%20Neighour%20Bylaw%20-%20Consolidated%20for%20website.pdf To contact a reporter for this story, email Jesse Tomas mailto:jtomas@infonews.ca  or call 250-488-3065 or email the editor mailto:news@infonews.ca .
