Seriously injured man found on highway in Osoyoos
RCMP officers in Osoyoos were called to what they thought was a report of a pedestrian hit and run Saturday night, but now they’re not so sure. At around 10:53 p.m., June 22, officers responded to the incident in the 7700 block of Highway 3 in Osoyoos, according to an RCMP media release. A 51-year-old man from the Lower Mainland was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told police they found the man lying on the road and saw a white vehicle leaving the scene. After reviewing CCTV footage, investigators discovered the man hadn’t been hit by the white car. “Osoyoos RCMP are continuing their investigation to determine if there is any criminal liability,” RCMP media relations officer Sgt. Jason Bayda said in the release. “At this time, we can confirm the white vehicle belonged to a witness who remained on scene. Investigators are not looking for any other vehicles.” To contact a reporter for this story, email Howard Alexander mailto:halexander@infonews.ca  or call 250-309-5343 or email the editor mailto:news@infonews.ca .
