Vernon RCMP investigate suspicious death after body found downtown

Vernon RCMP are asking for the public’s help with a suspicious death investigation after a man’s body was found downtown. Police responded to a report about a dead body around 7 a.m. on Dec. 9, according to a press release from police. Cory Fregin, 55, was found dead in a creek in the wooded area between 31 Avenue and the FreshCo building. His body was found towards the north end of the park.  “The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit has taken conduct of the investigation and are reaching out to the public for information about this death,” Cpl.
