The BC NDP has chosen its candidate for one of the two Kamloops ridings as the provincial election approaches.
Kamal Grewal will be acclaimed Saturday, July 13, to represent the party in the newly formed Kamloops Centre riding.
The former Thompson Rivers University international student advisor's candidacy comes as the only other nominee in the running, city councillor Bill Sarai, backed out of the race last month.
While the Kamloops Centre riding now has a candidate to represent the NDP, the party hasn't chosen anyone to take on the Kamloops North Thompson riding where incumbent Todd Stone of BC United will be on the ballot.
Grewal will be officially nominated at a Saturday event at TRU.
The BC election will be held on or before Oct. 19.
