Annual Lobster Feast to raise money for Penticton oncology upgrade
Funds raised by this year's Penticton Rotary Club lobster dinner will help to pay for upgrades to the oncology unit at the city's hospital. The annual Lobster Feast will be held at the Penticton Yacht Club on Sept. 21 and tickets are on sale now. "We are thrilled to host the Rotary Club of Penticton Lobster Feast once again this year," Karla Ziegler, event co-chair said in a media release. "This event is not only a celebration of community and camaraderie but also a vital fundraiser for our local hospital. Every ticket sold and every donation made will contribute to improving the lives of those battling cancer in our community." Funds raised will directly benefit oncology services at Penticton Regional Hospital so cancer patients can get the best care possible close to home.  Local award-winning Chef Darin Patterson will prepare the Atlantic lobster that will be paired with local wines and beers. BC's Dixie Fried Hep Katz will be providing the live entertainment to keep the night lively. Guests will have a chance to take part in both a live and silent auction on items donated by local businesses and supporters. "The support from our sponsors, volunteers and attendees is what makes this event so impactful," Ziegler said. "Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families." The Lobster Feast goes from 5:30 until 10 p.m., Sept. 21. Tickets, which are $125 plus GST, can be purchased here https://eatlobster.ca/ .
