Thousands of fans came out for the first Canadian Premier League match in Kelowna to watch Vancouver FC go head to head against Calgary Cavalry FC. It was an exciting and high contact match, but it ended in a draw: 0 to 0, with a total of five shots on target. Vancouver sported bright pink jerseys and Calgary was in green.  More than 6,000 fans came out to the Apple Bowl Stadium to watch the historic match as the Canadian Premier League tested the waters to see how many fans would show up. Darren Kashin was with his son who said he is a big Vancouver FC fan. “When this came to town we just couldn’t miss it,” Kashin said. Kashin said he hopes the Canadian Premier League will set up more games in Kelowna.
