Kamloops RCMP investigate fatal motorcycle crash
A motorcyclist was found dead near Kamloops Monday, and police are looking for information. Kamloops RCMP are looking for witnesses and information after a man was found dead near Lac Le Jeune Road on Sept. 23, according to a press release from police. A man in his 60s was reported missing around midnight on Sept. 22 after he didn’t come home from a motorcycle ride that day. Mounties and RCMP Air Services searched for the man near Timber Lake and Lac Le Jeune since the man rode around the area often, but they didn’t find him. Kamloops Fire and Rescue and RCMP received a report about a single-vehicle fatal motorcycle crash around 12:40 p.m. on Sept. 23. Police confirmed it was the missing man. “Sadly, the man and his yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle were located off of the roadway and appear to have crashed,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “The Kamloops RCMP Traffic Unit is investigating the collision with support from a BC Highway Patrol reconstructionist. We are asking anyone who may have observed the victim riding in the area or has dash-camera footage available that could be related, to please contact police as soon as possible.” The BC Coroners Service is also investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000.
