Kamloops RCMP hope someone has footage of a drive-by shooting that happened early this morning.
Police received a call about shots fired at a residence in the 1200-block of 10 Street just after 6 a.m. today, May 3, according to an RCMP press release.
There was a report of a silver older model Volkswagen Jetta leaving the scene.
Officers with help from a police dog unit searched the area and found the Jetta but were unable to find any suspects.
“The suspect vehicle has since been located a short distance from the shooting scene, on 13 Street, however the suspects remain outstanding,” Kamloops RCMP watch commander Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in the release.
Police are asking anyone who lives near 13 Street and 10 Street to review any video surveillance footage from this morning between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. and look for the silver Jetta.
“Thankfully, no one was injured but we certainly understand that incidents such as these are concerning to residents and neighbours. While the investigation is in its infancy, this event has all the earmarks of a targeted shooting between parties in conflict,” Staff Sgt. Shoihet said.
Anyone with information or footage is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2024-12950.
