Kelowna police tight-lipped on details surrounding seriously injured man

Kelowna RCMP are tight-lipped in regards to an incident earlier this week where a man was sent to the hospital.

Earlier this week, the Kelowna detachment issued a news release saying officers responded to a call at roughly 6:45 a.m. Nov. 1, in the Millbridge Park area of Kelowna. RCMP did not say what the call was for but pointed out it was an isolated incident.

"A male was found on scene and has been taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," the release read.

The next day Kelowna RCMP issued a second release now asking for the public's assistance to help find a man “who was reported to be walking in the area at the same time as the incident. His role is currently unknown but police are interested in speaking with him.”

RCMP gave no further details on what happened and provided no description of the man. However, rumours are circulating about what happened.

The only new information in the second release was a more specific location. The incident happened around Millbridge Park bordering Ethel Street, Gordon Drive, Springfield Road and Sutherland Avenue between 6:30 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. on Nov. 1.

"We can’t release anymore information at the moment as it is an active investigation," RCMP spokesperson Ryan (Sencar) Watters said in an email today, Nov. 3. "We can confirm that yes a man was injured and taken to a local hospital as per our original release."
