The city is warning Kelowna Community Theatre patrons to beware of ticket resellers or you could end up going to a show without valid tickets.
You can only buy tickets for performances and events at the community theatre online or in person at the box office and over the phone, according to a City of Kelowna media release issued today, May 13.
The city warns customers to be “mindful of search results on Google” marked as Sponsored or Ad. As well, customers will never be directed to a third-party website to purchase tickets.
“Unless the results link to the theatre’s official website, these are paid listings which are more likely to be third-party sellers,” the release reads.
The city also provided a list of signs your tickets aren’t legit:
Prices posted are in U.S. dollars.
Prices posted are higher or lower than those found on theatre.kelowna.ca
https://theatre.kelowna.ca/
.
Rows are listed without seat numbers on the website’s seat map.
The ticket you receive does not show your name, the price on the ticket, or shows a price other than what you paid.
You do not receive a confirmation email.
If you’re not sure if your tickets for a show at the community theatre are legitimate, give the box office a call at 250-469-8940.
