A suspicious cedar fire that extended into a nearby building in Kelowna yesterday.
Kelowna Fire Department received calls about a cedar hedge ablaze near a building at 799 Houghton Road around 4:25 p.m., according to a press release from the department.
The first officer on scene reported the flames extended into the nearby duplex, up to the second floor, and an attic space.
A resident of the duplex was checked for smoke inhalation at the scene, but there are no other injuries were reported.
The fire department said the fire is suspicious and RCMP are investigating.
The fire department responded with four engines, one rescue unit, one command unit, and 22 personnel.
