A truck driver was given a ticket after he swiped the awning of a downtown building in Kamloops on Wednesday.
The collision poured wood chips onto Seymour Street and the sidewalk after it tore open the side of a trailer.
Kamloops RCMP and Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement officers were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m., April 30, after the truck failed to make a righthand turn.

Detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said the driver was then issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.
That comes after the driver not only hit the Valley First Credit Union building but also drove through downtown while heavy commercial trucks have been ordered to detour around.
City construction on Lansdowne Street is detouring traffic to Seymour instead, while commercial trucks are to take Summit Drive or the Halston Bridge depending on their route.

The construction is expected to last until the fall.
While the driver was ticketed, it's not clear whether the province's commercial vehicle enforcement officers are investigating separately. Those officers were at the scene, but the Ministry of Transportation has not responded to a request for information on the incident.
