A school bus has crashed on Highway 97 in Lac La Hache.
100 Mile House RCMP say at around 1 p.m. today, June 21, officers were called to a collision involving a school bus on Highway 97 at Butler Road near Lac La Hache.
First responders are on the scene and the highway is closed to traffic in both directions.
There are reports of injuries and unconfirmed reports of fatalities.
SD 27 Board Chair Ciel Patenaude said they are still waiting on information to confirm any details.
“I don’t have any up-to-date information, we're all just waiting on it right now,” she said. “All I know is they were travelling to Horse Lake and 100 Mile. I don’t know which school.”
The school district is gathering parents at the recreation centre in 100 Mile to update them.
