There's a possibility of severe thunderstorms rolling through several regions in the B.C. Interior today.
Environment Canada issued an alert warning people in the Okanagan Valley, South Thompson, Nicola and Boundary to be aware of the possibility of torrential rain, high winds, and hail.
Residents in Merritt, Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton, and nearby cities could be hit with dangerous weather.
“Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors,” Environment Canada said in its alert.
Kelowna and the rest of the Okanagan is expecting a cool, rainy start to the week, and gradually increasing temperatures that could hit a sunny 30 C over this coming weekend.
Kamloops is expecting similar weather with a wet start to the week and increasing temperatures eventually hitting 32 C on Saturday.
