A BC nurse who commented on a negative social media post written about him by a patient's mother has been disciplined by the regulator.
According to a July 12, BC College of Nurses and Midwives decision, registered nurse Kristopher Shively communicated in an "unprofessional manner" when he found comments written about him online.
The decision said a patient's mother had posted a comment about her negative interaction with the nurse, although didn't name him in person.
However, comments made by others on the post did name him.

The nursing regulator doesn't say what the patient's mother wrote about Shively, only that she had had a "negative clinical interaction" with him.
The decision also doesn't say what Shively wrote on social media in response.
The decision said the incident took place in Burns Lake between Oct. 17 and Oct. 20, 2022.
Shively admitted to writing on social media and accepted that this amounted to professional misconduct and unprofessional conduct.
"Mr. Shively has voluntarily agreed to a reprimand, remedial education, and coaching," the decision read.
No other information is given by the regulator.
