Ready or not, the winter season is coming to Kamloops and the Okanagan with snow already falling and accumulating at higher elevations, and while that can spell trouble on our main highway routes, the white stuff does make for beautiful photographs. Over the weekend, some Thompson-Okanagan region residents explored the backcountry and local mountain lakes where they captured the first fallen snow in the region, while a few hundred metres of elevation lower the valley bottoms were warm and lit up with golden leaves. One of the photographers, Vernon's Kuang Myat, captured the transition from winter wonderland to autumn leaves on Silver Star Road in Vernon on Nov. 3.
