Kamloops RCMP received a report about a fight involving a weapon in the 100-block of Victoria Street around 7:15 p.m. on May 3, according to a press release from RCMP.
At this time police believe the assault happened after an argument escalated.
The victim is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police were able to quickly find the suspect who is still in custody.
“The victim is currently in critical condition, and investigators with the Serious Crime Unit are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed this incident,” Sgt. It is important that we speak with everyone who may have information as part of this ongoing investigation.”
Police believe the assault was an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.
