Two people remain in hospital with significant injuries following an arson fire in Merritt on Monday. Fire crews and paramedics were called to the house fire in the 1900 block of Houston Street at around 5 a.m., May 20, according to an RCMP media release. Paramedics took two people to hospital with serious injuries from the fire, RCMP said. Both people were stabilized and remain in hospital. Police arrested a suspect as the scene of the blaze. Lynn Johnny has been charged with arson causing bodily harm and remains in custody. She is scheduled for a bail hearing on Friday.
