North Okanagan volunteers build free beds for children in need
Volunteers in the North Okanagan have been busy building twin beds and bunkbeds for children in need this spring. Part of a Vernon chapter of an international organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace, volunteers build, assemble and deliver the beds free of charge. The Vernon chapter first opened in the summer of 2021, and this spring it expanded its service area to include families in Armstrong and Enderby. Recipients of the beds must be children between the ages of three and 17 who don’t have a bed of their own or have their feet hanging over edges.
