As rainy weather rolls through the BC Interior people should be aware of the fact that areas impacted by wildfire are more prone to landslides.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District wants to warn residents about the possibility of severe rainstorms over the weekend causing landslides, according to a press release from the district.
Environment Canada is predicting showers between 5 to 10 mm throughout the Interior over the weekend, but Columbia-Shuswap could get up to 25 mm.

said the area is at a risk for landslides if there is roughly 11 to 17 mm of rainfall in an hour.
The Shuswap Emergency Program advises people to check weather forecasts, make an emergency plan, and consider leaving the area if they are concerned about the potential for heavy rain.
