Incumbent MLA Merrifield previously said she’s leaving politics to return to her company Troika Developments.
"The pressing issue of the housing crisis calls for dedicated and immediate action, and I believe that my leadership at the company I founded, Troika, is where I can make the most substantial impact," she said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Ramsay has been involved in provincial and local organizations, has advocated for economic diversification, technological innovation and educational development, according to the party’s media release.
The BC election will be held on or before Oct. 19.
