Jeff Pont with Kamloops Fire Rescue said the residents were displaced by the blaze. The investigation has so far found the motel fire started in the centre of one of the rooms, but it gutted two of them before it was doused, destroying exterior walls on either side of the building. It also heavily damaged the front of an SUV parked in front of the rooms.
