The Vancouver Canucks are going to be holding their training camp in Penticton in September.
The team is going to be at the South Okanagan Events Centre from Sept. 19 to 22, according to a media release from the Canucks.
There will be daily skates and a Blue-White scrimmage on Sunday. This will be the first time the Canucks will have their camp in Penticton since 2010.
The president of Canucks Sports and Entertainment Jim Rutherford said it makes sense to come to Penticton since it’s the home of the Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic.
“The facilities are first class, the fans in the Interior are very passionate and the players, coaches and staff really enjoy what the city and region has to offer,” Rutherford said in the release.

The practice sessions are going to be open to the public, and ticket details

will be announced at a later date.
“We look forward to connecting with our fan base in the Okanagan and using these on ice sessions to set the standard and put in place the structure needed for the start of another season,” Rutherford said.
Penticton’s mayor Julius Bloomfield said the city is excited to have the camp in town.
“The Canucks and their fans will bring energy to Penticton and will provide a welcome economic boost as well. This is going to be a great year for the Canucks and it’s all going to start here,” Bloomfield said in the release.
