A woman’s body was found in the lagoon at Waterfront Park in Kelowna in June and following an investigation RCMP say her death was “non-criminal in nature.”
The woman’s body was found in the lagoon at the lakeside park in the city’s downtown the morning of June 21. At the time RCMP only said that investigators were working with the coroners service to identify the woman and determine a cause of death.
“We now have the necessary evidence and reports to conclude this woman’s death as non-criminal,” Kelowna RCMP media liaison Cpl. Michael Gauthier said in a media release issued today, Dec. 18.
“Our responsibility is to conduct a complete and thorough investigation, this takes time. Our condolences and thoughts remain with her family.”
RCMP are not releasing the woman’s name or her cause of death.
