BC Conservative Gavin Dew is Kelowna-Mission’s new MLA

BC Conservative Gavin Dew has won the Kelowna-Mission riding and will be heading to Victoria to represent its constituents. Dew beat out BC NDP Harpreet Badohal, Independent Ashley Ramsay, and BC Green's Billy Young. Dew ran in the 2016 byelection as the BC Liberal candidate for Vancouver-Mount Pleasant but was defeated by BC NDP's Melanie Mark. This time around, under a blue banner, Dew secured the Kelowna-Mission seat. Dew has business experience alongside his political career. He recently opened up Play Area, an indoor playground in Kelowna, with his wife. Dew also recently served as the CFO for a cannabis company which sold after going $5 million in debt. His most recent job was the chief strategy officer role for a $5 billion agriculture project in B.C. Dew will be taking over for BC Liberal Renee Merrifield who won the riding in 2020. The BC Conservative win isn’t a surprise since Dew had a consistent lead in the polls leading up to election day.
