A dangerous offender from Penticton, guilty of a horrific assault and sexual assault on a young mother in 2011, will remain behind bars, the Parole Board of Canada has decided.
Nearly 10 years in a maximum security federal prison doesn’t appear to have changed David Wesley Bobbitt much

. In being denied for pre-release day parole and full parole in May, the board recounted numerous incidents of violence and crime in prison.
He may never be released. While he was technically sentenced to 12 years for his crimes, he was also designated a dangerous offender, earning an indeterminate sentence. The judge in his case called him “the very rare definition of a psychopath.”
In 2011, he owned Dave’s Second Hand Store when a 22-year-old woman came in with her toddler. Bobbitt hit her from behind with a hammer, tied her up and sexually assaulted her for hours.
His psychopathy continues to show in prison. He has thrown boiling water at another inmate, threatened to kill guards and their families, saying, "when I feel this way, I hurt people... You guys should know this by now. I don't make threats; I act on them.”
“Of concern is that your threats often come without provocation,” the board said.
He hasn’t taken any sex offender courses, but is on a waitlist.
“I'm at the point where I'm going to murder one of those people just so I have a good reason to be here,” the board quoted him as saying.
Bobbitt himself seems to realize he’s there for much longer. He offered no written explanation for why he should get parole or his plan for release when on parole. This is the third time he was denied parole.
