Date set for this year's NHL Young Stars Classic in Penticton

The next big Western Canadian hockey stars will be playing in Penticton this September in the annual Young Stars Classic. The rookie tournament is a four-day event that see the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets pit their top prospects against each other, according to a South Okanagan Events Centre media release issued today, June 6. The round-robin tourney is taking place at the SOEC from Sept. 13 to 16. We look forward to seeing Jonathan Lekkerimäki, Elias Pettersson, Ty Mueller and Ty Young compete in this tournament.” This is the 11th edition of the six-game tournament. Last year’s tournament showcased players who went on to play regular season games in the NHL like Vancouver’s Arshdeep Bains and Cole McWard, Calgary’s Matt Coronato, Adam Klapka and Yan Kuznetsov and Winnipeg’s Nikita Chibrikov and Brad Lambert.
