Three men are being treated for stab wounds after a confrontation earlier this week with a group of "transients" in North Kamloops, police say.
The violence began around 9:30 p.m., Aug. 12, near Yew Street and Tranquille Road, where a passing ambulance was flagged down to help the three wounded men, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.
The men were 28, 32 and 35, respectively, and their injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Officers were called shortly after paramedics stopped at the scene.
“While we are continuing our investigation, based on the evidence gleaned thus far, this incident does not appear random,” Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in the news release.
Just what preceded the violence isn't clear. Police said the three men "had an interaction with a group of transients" and that led to the "altercation" where they each were stabbed.
It's not clear whether police have any suspects identified, but they are looking to the public for witnesses to reach out to the detachment at 250-828-3000.
