Campfire ban to be lifted in Thompson-Okanagan this week
Thanks to all the rain over the past weekend the campfire ban in the Kamloops Fire Centre will be lifted on Wednesday. The rain, along with cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity, has prompted the BC Wildfire Service to lift the campfire ban as of noon, August. 28, according to a media release. The use of torches, like tiki torches, and chimineas are also now allowed. Open fires remain prohibited until noon on Oct. 11.
