COVID daily case count climbs to 437 in B.C.

There were 437 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C. in the last 24 hours, the highest daily total since Nov. 19.

The 93 new cases in the Interior Health region was on par with the case counts of recent days.

There were 105 new cases in the Fraser Health region, 127 on Vancouver Island, 22 in Northern Health and 90 in Vancouver Coastal, according to a news release issued by the Province of B.C. today, Dec. 10.

There were three more deaths but none in the Interior Health region, bringing the provincial total to 2,381.

There are 2,994 active cases with 221 B.C. residents in hospital, of which 72 are in intensive care.

The vaccination rate for those aged 12 and over with at least one dose is unchanged at 91.4%. For those with two doses, the rate increased slightly to 88.4%. There are 12% of B.C. residents who have received a third dose.
