Northern lights were visible in Kamloops, Okanagan last night because of a rare storm.
The forecast was favourable with few clouds in the sky, and there was a severe geomagnetic storm warning from the Space Weather Prediction Centre for the first time since January 2005.
The geomagnetic storm that made the lights visible so far south peaked between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Amateur and professional photographers alike took some great photos of the aurora borealis around the region.
