Kamloops firefighters extinguish blaze at North Shore restaurant

No one was hurt as Kamloops firefighters put out an early morning blaze at a Kamloops restaurant on the city's North Shore.

Fire crews were called at around 4 a.m. today, March 4, to the Lotus Inn Restaurant at 512 Tranquille Rd. and were able to hold the flames to the exterior the building.

The flames were snuffed out and no one was hurt.

“We had two engines, a rescue vehicle and a ladder,” Kamloops Fire Rescue platoon captain Darryl Cooper said. “The fire started under a wooden stairwell in the back alley on the exterior of the building. We do not have a source of ignition at this time.”

No word if the cause of the fire was suspicious.

Kamloops RCMP have not responded to a request for comment.
