Kamloops police looking for information after BMW carjacking

A man was robbed of his 2008 BMW at gunpoint in Kamloops at about 10:30 p.m. yesterday, Nov. 27. “The victim was parked in the 1100 block of Nicola Street in his dark blue, 2008 BMW 535Xi, bearing BC licence plate NM0 99B, when a man approached the driver’s window, produced a firearm and demanded the victim get out of the car,” Staff-Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in an RCMP press release. “Thankfully the victim was not physically harmed however was understandably shaken by the ordeal.” The thief then drove east on Nicola Street in the car. He’s described as a Caucasian man in his 40s, standing approximately 5’7” tall and wearing a baseball cap. “We are asking residents in the area of Nicola Street and 11 Avenue to review video surveillance between 10:30 and 11 p.m. for the BMW,” Shoihet wrote. “While it is dark blue, it will likely appear black at night.” If anyone spots the vehicle with someone in it, they should call 911.
