Kelowna lawn-bowling fundraiser returns after 2-year hiatus

After a two year hiatus, On The Lawn is returning this summer season to raise funds for youth programs.!

BDO has renewed its sponsorship of the lawn bowling tournament for another year, helping bring back one of the hottest events of the summer. Funds raised from the tournament will go towards local non-profit Elevation Outdoors, according to a press release from the non-profit.

In 2019, the On The Lawn team expanded the event from three to fours weeks, opening it up to another 14 teams, and 2022 will see that format continue as a four week event hosting 20 teams of four, in the course of four weeks.

The sixth annual event also brings four evenings of entertainment, networking, and socializing in the form of a lawn bowling tournament from July 21 to August 11. Teams will bowl it out each week in one of two brackets, either July 21 and July 28 or Aug. 4 and Aug. 11 or bowlers can sign up for all four weeks.

Since its first year, On the Lawn has raised more than $100,000 for Elevation Outdoors and underprivileged youth of the Okanagan. The proceeds from this year’s event will assist Elevation Outdoors in providing more than 85 full scholarships to deserving participants.

Team registration tickets are on sale now. To register for the event and for more information, visit this website.
