Expect low visibility and snow on southern Interior mountain highways starting tomorrow afternoon.
An unseasonable low pressure system combined with a cool and unstable airmass will bring snow and cold temperatures to high mountain passes, with between five to 10 centimetres of snow expected, according to an Environment Canada special weather statement.
Starting tomorrow afternoon, May 18, Environment Canada forecasts the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt, along with Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton, will see periods of rain and wet snow overnight.

It will transition to snow and ease to light flurries by Thursday morning.
The Trans-Canada Highway will see similar conditions but less snow is expected. Between Rogers Pass and Eagle Pass, Environment Canada forecasts up to five cm of snow starting overnight, May 17, and continuing tomorrow morning.
The low pressure system heading toward southwest B.C. is expected to affect Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, Howe Sound, Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
