Police ask for help to identify suspects in Kamloops break-in

Kamloops RCMP are investigating a residential break and enter that happened this past weekend.  On Saturday Feb. 3, in the early hours of the morning, a Kamloops resident was woken by an intruder, according to an RCMP media release.  At around 4.15 a.m. RCMP frontline officers were called to the 1400-block of Cannel Drive. It was reported that two men had broken into the home but left after being confronted by one of the residents.  No one was injured and no items appear to have been taken during the incident.  The Police Dog Service Unit attended but were unable to locate the suspects. Officers reviewed nearby security footage which showed two people running from the area. The two people were seen running at different times that morning, one just after 2.15 a.m. and the second just before police were contacted at 4.12 a.m.  “The images are not clear, but we are releasing one to the public in an effort to try and identify who the people might be, and also request that those in the neighbourhood check any dash cam or security footage to see if it captured anything that could be related,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson, said in a press release. “Maybe two people were observed running to another residence or to a vehicle nearby. It’s possible something was recorded around either of those times that may have seemed insignificant initially.” One of the suspects is described as a Caucasian male with short brown hair. He is reported to be around 5 foot 10 inches tall and was wearing a black hoody with white writing and black pants.
