Police seeking attempted Kamloops armed robbery suspect

Kamloops RCMP were called to a downtown business last week after an armed robbery suspect fled without cash.

The unknown man produced what police believe was a knife and demanded the cashier at a business on the 400-block of Victoria Street give him money, according to a news release.

Mounties were called to the scene on Feb. 1 around 7:05 p.m.

The employee refused and the man fled eastbound on Victoria Street on a black BMX bike, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

Police describe the suspect as Caucasian, standing 5'11" with an average build. He is in his twenties or thirties.

At the time of the offence, he was wearing a camouflage jacket, black gloves with orange on them, a black mask and a hat with an orange brim. There was no explanation from police about why the news release wasn't sent until eight days later.
