Semi driver in Kamloops has truck impounded for not providing breath sample
A transport truck driver in Kamloops had his truck impounded as RCMP conduct an impaired driving investigation. Kamloops RCMP received a report about a semi-truck swerving on the highway, not signalling and almost hitting a meridian. The driver was pulled over just off Highway 5 at Copperhead and Versatile Drives, and police demanded a breathalyzer test. The driver did not provide an adequate test which is considered a refusal, according to a press release from RCMP. “Refusal of the breath demand carries the same penalty as blowing a fail, which would indicate a blood alcohol content exceeding .08,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP, said in the release. The driver received a 90 driving prohibition and his truck was impounded for 30 days for driving impaired.
