Small earthquake shakes South Okanagan

A small earthquake hit the South Okanagan this afternoon giving some residents a shock.  An earthquake rumbled at around 2:07 p.m. today, Dec. 4, and could be felt in Oliver, Okanagan Falls, Penticton and Kaleden, according to an Earthquakes Canada report.  The 3.1 magnitude quake was six kilometres deep.  South Okanagan residents took to social media to see if others had felt and shaking or had heard loud bangs. One person said they heard two explosions and their house shook. Another said it was like someone hit their house. There have been no reports of damage so far and Earthquakes Canada said none would have been expected from a quake this size.
