Vernon man sent to hospital with stab wounds; two suspects arrested
A man was stabbed in downtown Vernon this morning. Police received a report of a man with stab wounds entering a location on the 3400 block of 27 Avenue around 7 a.m. today, Feb. 8, according to a press release from RCMP. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers determined the stabbing happened outside of a business in the 2400 block of 34 Street. RCMP do not identify the business. There have been two arrests made in connection with the stabbing and those individuals are still in police custody at this time. “The parties involved are known to each other and we believe this to be a targeted incident with no known risk to the public,” Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release. “There will be a continued police presence in the area as officers continue to collect physical evidence in support of the ongoing investigation.” Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to contact Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file number 2024-2123.
