318 new COVID cases in Interior Health region

There have been 318 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Interior Health region in the past 24 hours and 2,239 in B.C. as a whole.

There were 807 new cases in the Fraser Health region, 383 in Vancouver Coastal, 562 on Vancouver Island and 562 in the Northern Health region, according to a Ministry of Health news release issued today, Jan. 11.

There have been three new deaths, including one in the Interior Health region, bringing the provincial total to 2,449.

There are 36,087 active cases in B.C. with 469 people in hospital, 97 of whom are in intensive care.

The vaccination rate for people 12 and over with at least one dose is 92.2%, with two doses it’s 89.4% and 26.8% of B.C. residents have received booster shots.
