With summer coming to an end, residents in Kamloops and the Okanagan can be seen enjoying the last warm days and evenings at local parks.
Hobby photographer Doug Mackie has spent a few decades living in the Okanagan and currently resides in Kelowna where he enjoys capturing the vibes and motions of life around him.
“Photography is a passion I’ve taken up over the years, I try to capture the atmosphere and show different perspectives of the city,” he said.
Working as a trucker, Mackie drives all over North America but has not found a place he loves as much as the Okanagan.
“Every time I come back into the Okanagan, I realize it’s the best place in the country. It inspires me to capture it on camera.”

Mackie snapped most of his summer photos at various times of the day in the iconic Kelowna City Park on Abbott Street.
Also pictured in this collection of late summer images is a skate park in Logan Lake and Riverside Park in Kamloops.
