Skies are expected to clear by tomorrow, Feb. 13, in Kamloops and the Okanagan. While there may be sunshine, daytimes highs will be near or below the freezing levels and the clear nights could see temperatures drop to as low a -10 Celsius in Kamloops on Thursday morning, and -8 C in the Okanagan. But first, it is going to be warm today, up to 6 C in Kamloops, with a chance of flurries this morning, according to the Environment Canada online forecast. Sunshine is expected through the week with the high temperature in Kamloops expected to reach 2 C tomorrow, dropping to -3 C on Thursday before climbing above zero with clouds on the weekend. Normal high temperatures for this time of year are 4 C with overnight lows of -4 C. For Vernon and Kelowna, it could reach 5 C today with rain, mainly sunny and 3 C Tuesday then clouding over Wednesday with a 30% chance of flurries before clearing later in the week. Environment Canada and Interior Health’s special air quality statement continues for Vernon because of a high concentration of dust in the air that is expected to persist until there is precipitation, dust suppression or a change in traffic patterns.
